Privacy Policy

BearBus · Effective September 25, 2026

BearBus is built to need as little about you as possible. It has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no tracking. It does not sell or share your data.

Your location

BearBus uses your location to show where you are on the map, to work out walking times to stops, and to tell when you have boarded a bus so it can alert you before your stop.

Your location is processed on your device. BearBus does not send it to us or store it anywhere. To calculate walking directions, BearBus uses Apple's Maps service, which receives the start and end points of each walk under Apple's privacy policy.

Location is used in the background only while you are following a trip or tracking a ride, and it stops when the trip ends. You can turn location off at any time in Settings. The map still works without it.

Feedback you send

If you send feedback from the Feedback tab, we receive the category and message you write, plus the app version, iOS version, and device model (for example "iPhone"), so we can reproduce problems. Nothing that identifies you is attached, unless you choose to write it in your message. Feedback is stored with our database provider, Supabase, and is used only to fix and improve BearBus.

Saved places and favorites

Your favorite stops, saved places, and recent searches are stored only on your device. Deleting the app deletes them.

Shuttle data

Bus positions come from the shuttle system's public live feed. Loading it sends nothing about you.

Children

BearBus is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
